Calder Quartet takes center stage

They’re not even all past 30 yet, but the members of the Calder Quartet have become among Los Angeles’ most celebrated and consistent musical entities. Over the last few years they’ve stretched out from the mainstream repertoire that brought them together, and they’re now able to handle both Thomas Ades and Andrew C.K.
Fresh from a Disney Concert Hall show accompanying the Airborne Toxic Event, the Calders perform Friday at their home base at the Colburn School’s Zipper Hall, playing music by Dvorak, Janacek and experimental rock guitarist Fred Frith.
