‘MARRY ME’
SUNDAY
Pity poor Lucy Liu, above. The “Ally McBeal” and “Kill Bill” costar has not one, not two, but three suitors, and each one asking “Marry Me” in this two-part (it concludes Monday), made-for-cable romantic fable. Whom will she choose? (Lifetime, 9 and 11 p.m.)
Santa Claus snubs Stewie? Ho, ho, no, he didn’t! The tyrannical tot and his trusty canine companion, Brian, travel to the North Pole seeking redress of grievances on an extended holiday episode of the irreverent? animated sitcom “Family Guy.” (Fox, 8:30 p.m.)
MONDAY
“Mariah Carey: Merry Christmas to You” finds the chart-topping diva — a.k.a. Mrs. Nick Cannon — trolling ancient as well as contemporary yuletide carols for your holiday listening pleasure at Downtown L.A.’s ornate Orpheum Theatre. (ABC, 9 p.m.)
TUESDAY
The two-part special “Third Reich” forgoes the all-too-familiar, WWII-era stock footage in favor of never-before-seen amateur films that present an everyman’s perspective on the rise and fall of the murderous Nazi regime. Concludes Wednesday. (History, 9 p.m.)
WEDNESDAY
Pablo Picasso, Ernest Hemingway, Igor Stravinsky… just some of the artists, writers and composers who helped make the City of Light the crucible of the Modernist movement of the early 20th century, an era recalled in “Paris: The Luminous Years.” (KCET, 9 p.m.)
THURSDAY ¿Quién es más macho? Aftershave pitchman Isaiah Mustafa, a certain beer company’s “Most Interesting Man in the World” or David Hasselhoff? All three gentlemen are featured in the new special “Funniest Commercials of the Year: 2010.” (TBS, 10 p.m.)
FRIDAY
The operatic Andrea Bocelli, the aforementioned Mariah Carey, “iCarly’s” Miranda Cosgrove and “Glee’s” Matthew Morrison help celebrate “Christmas in Washington” in this holiday concert direct from our nation’s capital. (TNT, 8 and 11:15 p.m.)
SATURDAY
Denzel Washington, below, is a man on a mission in the 2010 post-apocalyptic thriller “The Book of Eli,” which, ironically, falls apart toward the end much like civilization in a post-apocalyptic thriller. But it’s one action-packed ride up till then. (HBO, 8 p.m.)
‘THE BOOK OF ELI’
