Quietly, the San Antonio Spurs have made their move in the Western Conference.
But that really shouldn’t be a surprise. The Spurs have won four NBA championships and they still have Tim Duncan.
After starting the season 2-5, the Spurs have improved to 24-11 and moved to the top of the Southwest Division ahead of New Orleans and Houston.
San Antonio has the second-best record in the West behind the Lakers, whom they host Wednesday night.
The Spurs still have the Big Three of Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili. But it has been the play of free-agent pickup Roger Mason and rookie George Hill that has helped the Spurs.
