Inside Jonathan Broxton’s new Dodgers contract

Jonathan Broxton’s new, $1.825-million contract with the Dodgers includes $200,000 in incentives based on games finished. That means he’ll probably be in line earn more than $2 million if he becomes the Dodgers’ closer.

Broxton will receive $50,000 each for his 45th, 50th, 55th and 60th games finished.

Other notable players who avoided arbitration today:

Erik Bedard, Seattle Mariners -- one year, $7.75 million, including $600,000 in incentives based on innings pitched. He’ll earn another $50,000 if he makes the All-Star team.

Adam LaRoche, Pittsburgh Pirates -- one year, $7.05 million. He’ll qualify for $100,000 in incentives based on plate appearances.

Xavier Nady, New York Yankees -- one year, $6.55 million.

Jonathan Papelbon, Boston Red Sox -- one year, $6.25 million.

Shane Victorino, Philadelphia Phillies -- one year, $3.125 million.

Edwin Jackson, Detroit Tigers -- one year, $2.2 million, with $200,000 in incentives based on innings pitched.
