TEMPE, Ariz. -- The A’s roughed up Angels starter Jered Weaver today, not that Weaver was all that worried about it. The A’s led 5-1 after six innings.
Weaver gave up three runs and six hits -- including singles to the first three batters of the game -- over 2 1/3 innings. After two spring appearances, his earned-run average is 12.00.
‘You just want to come out of it feeling good,’ Weaver said. ‘I came out of it feeling good.’
Weaver, who got a late start this spring because of shoulder soreness, said he is now ready to use his spring starts to refine the location of his pitches.
