Football: Newport Harbor gets Pac-5 at-large spot

Newport Harbor (6-4), the fourth-place representative from the Sunset League, has been awarded the lone at-large playoff berth from the Pac-5 Division, beating out Encino Crespi (5-5) from the Serra League.

It was a close call, but the committee relied on a common opponent, Los Angeles Loyola. Newport Harbor defeated Loyola and Crespi lost to Loyola.

The complete Pac-5 playoff bracket will be released at 11 a.m.
