Bishop Amat gets interception that counts

Defensive tackle Daniel Kane came up with an interception of a screen pass on the Bishop Amat 27-yard line to halt a Mater Dei drive with three minutes left in the first quarter of a scoreless game.
A 60-yard interception return for a touchdown by Rio Ruiz was nullified because of a defensive holding penalty on Bishop Amat. The Lancers tackled Mater Dei receiver Victor Blackwell away from the ball. It was a great way to stop Blackwell but the officials noticed.
Julian Gener came up with an important eight-yard sack of Mater Dei QB Max Wittek when the Monarchs had driven to the Bishop Amat 20.
