The first quarter has been completed in the state Division V boys’ final, and Playa del Rey St. Bernard and Alameda St. Joseph Notre Dame are tied, 12-12.
St. Joseph came out and made three three-pointers in the first quarter, a rare occurrence for Power Balance Pavilion. That’s why St. Bernard Coach Reggie Morris Jr. had urged his players, ‘We want easy baskets,’ in his pregame talk.
The Vikings, however, made a pair of three-pointers themselves. Brandon Randolph has five points.
