Girls’ basketball: Mater Dei up 24-20 at halftime

After a disastrous start, Mater Dei has responded like a champion and leads Berkeley 24-20 at halftime of the state Division I championship game at Power Balance Pavilion in Sacramento.

The Monarchs outscored Berkeley 16-4 in the second quarter, led by Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis, who has a game-high 15 points.
