Boys’ basketball: Freshman Marcus LoVett leads Providence

Burbank Providence defeated Nipomo, 68-41, on Wednesday behind freshman Marcus LoVett, who scored 28 points. Patrick Gonzalez had 24 points.
In Hawaii, Fairfax defeated Iolani, 41-40. Reggie Theus Jr. and Ronny Price each had 11 points.
In the Maui tournament, Oaks Christian advanced to the finals with a 76-66 win over Redondo. Chass Bryan scored 29 points and Jackson Miller 19.
Etiwanda rolled to a 77-58 win over Eisenhower. Sophomore Jordan McLaughlin scored 20 points. Palisades was beaten by JSerra, 71-69, despite 26 points from Donovan Johnson.
Los Angeles Price defeated Chino, 79-34. Khalil Johnson had 17 points and Skylar Spencer 16.
