Baseball: Beckman advances in Division 2 playoffs

Irvine Beckman didn’t hold anything back in its Southern Section Divison 2 wild-card playoff game. Ace Dylan Stablein was sent to the mound and delivered in a 2-0 victory over Yorba Linda. He struck out four, walked one and allowed six hits.

Michael Fuchs had three hits to lead the offense.

Laguna Hills defeated Glendora, 5-2. Righetti knocked off Chino Hills, 3-0. Burbank Burroughs defeated San Luis Obispo, 7-3.

Santa Barbara defeated Pasadena, 5-1. Gabe Grandcolas got the victory, striking out four and walking none.

In Division 3, Cathedral defeated Xavier Prep, 5-0. Daniel Rosas and Diego Gutierrez combined on a three-hitter. Matthew Moran had two hits.
