Santa Ana : Police Investigate Man’s Death From Shooting

A Santa Ana man died early Tuesday morning of a gunshot wound to the head. Police were investigating whether the shooting was an accident or homicide.
Identity of the man was not released.
The shooting occurred about 1:30 a.m. in an apartment at 412 W. Chestnut Ave., investigator Gary Bruce said.
Bruce said witnesses reported that the man had been playing with the handgun when it went off but that there were “circumstances that require further investigation” before police can determine whether to classify the shooting as a homicide or accident.
