What Santa Ana Official Said

I was dismayed at The Times’ treatment of my comments regarding the recent meeting of Santa Ana Merged Society of Neighbors, a citizens’ coalition opposed to several policies of the Santa Ana City Council.
My statements were improperly represented in your Jan. 5 article and did not communicate an accurate account of our conversation.
I did not state that Saturday’s turnout was not “that significant” nor did I comment that it did not “concern us.”
Further, my statement to you regarding the coalition’s meeting was that the group has that right to meet and not the flippant comment attributed to me in your article.
Your representation of our discussion implied an arrogance and insensitivity that does not exist.
