Winds gusting up to 67 m.p.h. swept across the upper Midwest, fueling a fire in Minnesota that killed two persons and ripping roofs off buildings. Weather advisories were in effect most of the morning for parts of northwestern Minnesota, and the Twin Cities International Airport clocked high wind gusts. Strong gusts also tipped over icehouses on Minnesota lakes. In Duluth, Minn., the winds ripped the roof off part of the airport terminal building, shutting it down for several hours.
