Trichinosis Outbreak Blamed on Bear Meat

ATLANTA — A trichinosis outbreak in Alaska last year has been traced to bad meat from a grizzly bear. Seventeen persons were found to have eaten the same supply of grizzly bear meat and nine had signs of the parasitic disease, including muscle pain, diarrhea, rash and fever, the national Centers for Disease Control reported Thursday.
