Chapman Falls in Second Half to SLO, 60-53

Forward Sean Chambers scored 24 points Friday night to lead Cal Poly San Luis Obispo to a 60-53 win over Chapman in a California Collegiate Athletic Assn. game played before 1,000 at San Luis Obispo.
The second-place Mustangs improved their conference record to 3-1. Chapman is 1-3.
The Panthers led, 26-23, at halftime, but San Luis Obispo outscored Chapman (8-2) early in the second half to take the lead for good at 29-28.
San Luis Obispo led by as many as 10 at 56-46 and held off a late Chapman rally to win.
Chambers made 9-of-17 field-goal attempts and 6-of-11 free throws. Jim Van Winden added 15 points for the Mustangs.
Kelly Huston scored 13 points to lead the Panthers, and Karl Tompkins added 12 points and 13 rebounds.
