Fountain Valley : Commission to Discuss Improvements at Park
- Share via
How to implement $1.2 million worth of improvements to city park facilities will be discussed by the city Parks and Recreation Commission tonight.
Last week, the City Council voted to include nine development projects in the city’s recreation and cultural center master plan, according to Public Works Director Wayne Osborne.
The commission will decide in what order the improvements should be undertaken; all are planned at a 55-acre site the city leases in 640-acre Mile Square Park, Osborne said. The projects include building a $500,000 teen center, a restroom and concession building, three baseball fields and a soccer field, Osborne said. The projects are expected to be financed through city development fees and county and state grants, Osborne said.
