David Bretoi, 49, on Tuesday was named president of Beverly Hills Federal Savings & Loan Assn., succeeding John L. Carr, who has had the job since last April, when federal regulators placed the financial institution in receivership.
Both executives are part of a management team from First Nationwide Financial Corp. that is running Beverly Hills Savings under a management contract from the Federal Savings and Loan Insurance Corp. Bretoi previously had been executive vice president of Beverly Hills Savings.
Carr said his resignation is a result of expanded duties at First Nationwide. He was elected vice chairman of San Francisco-based First Nationwide in November.
