Soap heartthrob Peter Reckell--bearded Bo Brady, the imprisoned private eye on “Days of Our Lives”--is coming clean.

On Feb. 10, for the first time in four years, we’ll see him sans beard and shorn of some of those long, curly locks, as part of a storyline that has him escaping confinement.

“When I first looked at myself, I thought I was looking at my younger brother,” Reckell told Outtakes. “When I went into work on Monday, the guard said to me, ‘Excuse me, may I see your ID?’ ”

Reckell likes his new smooth-cheeked look and said he’ll be clean-shaven when he leaves the soap next year. For now, however, the producers are already writing his beard back into the storyline.
