Christ College Irvine Beats Arizona Bible

The Christ College Irvine men’s basketball team overcame Arizona College of the Bible’s delay tactics to take a 63-40 victory in a Western Christian Athletic Assn. game in Irvine.
The Eagles led, 1-0, after 5:30 because of Arizona College of the Bible’s slowdown offense. But CCI (5-1, 17-5) managed to take a 23-13 lead by halftime. Eagle center Derwin Appleberry had 15 points and 10 rebounds, and Tim Surridge added 11 points.
Arizona College of the Bible, which was outrebounded, 25-8, dropped to 0-7, 9-10. CCI travels to Phoenix to play Southern Western Baptist Friday.
