New Municipal Judge Sworn In for Glendale

Glendale Municipal Court Commissioner Cheryl Krott was sworn in Monday as the newest judge at the court.
Krott, 44, was appointed by Gov. George Deukmejian to replace Judge Janice Claire Croft, who was elevated to the Los Angeles County Superior Court in December and assigned to the south-central district.
Krott had been a commissioner for the Glendale Judicial District since 1983. She previously worked as a deputy public defender and deputy district attorney for Los Angeles County.
The court will accept applications until Feb. 14 for a commissioner to replace Krott, said Sheila Gonzalez, Glendale Municipal Court administrator.
The court has three judges and one commissioner.
A commissioner has the same power as a judge once the parties involved in litigation agree to the commissioner’s jurisdiction.
Commissioners earn $65,559 a year.
