Errors Hurt Master’s in a 12-3 Defeat

The Master’s College made four errors and gave up seven unearned runs Wednesday in a 12-3 baseball loss to Southern California College in an NAIA District III opener.
Ray McCollum led the Vanguards’ 13-hit attack, collecting two doubles, a single and three RBIs. The Vanguards, the defending District and area champions, are ranked 19th in the nation.
The Mustangs, who opened their season Tuesday with a 5-3 win over Pomona-Pitzer, fell to 1-1 overall and 0-1 in district play. Southern California is 1-0.
