HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER : Top-Ranked Agoura Shuts Out Santa Clara, Closes In on Title

Agoura High, top ranked in Southern Section 1-A soccer polls, beat winless Santa Clara, 4-0, on Friday night. Tad Miller, Kevin Jauch, Mike Neilsen and Jim Shelton each scored goals.
Agoura, which will play for the Frontier League championship Tuesday against Calabasas, is 7-0 in league and 14-1-2 overall.
Calabasas 1, Santa Paula 1--Trailing at halftime, the Coyotes’ Brad Bookbinder scored the second half goal to save a loss.
Calabasas is 5-1-1 in Frontier League and 13-4-3 overall.
Burbank 4, San Gabriel 0--Brad Watkins scored three goals and Clint Greenwood had three assists to lead the Foothill League win.
Burbank is 9-1 in league and 18-1 overall.
L.A. Baptist 3, Western Christian 1--Trevor Slavick, Scott Ellison and David Fursman each scored for L. A. Baptist.
L. A. Baptist, ranked third among Southern Section 1-A schools, is 8-0-1 in Alpha League and 13-3-2 overall. Western Christian is 4-5 in league and 5-9 overall.
Chaminade 6, Marymount 1--Amy Miller and Jennifer Eikenmyer each scored two goals in the rout.
Chaminade is 10-0 in Sunshine League and 11-4-1 overall.
