Santa Monica : New Massage Law Approved

The city’s revised massage ordinance was passed by the City Council on Tuesday.
The law tightens requirements for massage licenses while exempting massage technicians who are members of professional organizations that require massage education and tests as conditions for membership.
Applicants not exempted from the law would have to pass a new written examination devised by the city, and hold a diploma from a state-approved massage school.
