The San Diego State men’s track and field team dominated its triangular meet Saturday against Occidental College and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, winning 13 of 19 events and sweeping two of them.
The Aztecs scored 111 1/2 points to Cal Poly SLO’s 51 and Occidental’s 39 1/2.
Aztec sprinter Andre Freeman won the 100 and 200 meters. In what Coach Dixon Farmer called “the best performance of the day,” SDSU’s Ed Cooper won the 400-meter intermediate hurdles in 51.51 seconds. Roe Holliday posted a lifetime best in the triple jump at 49 feet 5 inches.
The Aztecs swept the 800 as Kyle Martin won in a time of 1:54.7. Discus thrower Scott Hoth led an SDSU sweep of that event with a toss of 159-8.
