WASHINGTON — Six anti-Marcos demonstrators, including a priest, were arrested today outside the Philippines Embassy, protesting the “illegitimate and immoral” government in the Pacific nation.
The demonstrators were carted quietly away by District of Columbia police about 10 minutes after they started chanting and shouting for the ouster of President Ferdinand E. Marcos. Protests within 500 feet of a foreign embassy are illegal in the nation’s capital.
