ANCHORAGE, Alaska — A twin-engine Alaska Aeronautical Industries plane carrying four persons landed in Kenai with its wheels up because the pilot forgot to lower the gear, a federal air safety investigator said.
Pilot Mike Cody and his three passengers were not hurt Sunday when the Piper Navajo, which was flying to Kenai from Homer, skidded to a halt on its belly, Jim Michelangelo of the National Transportation Safety Board said.
“The pilot told us he forgot to put his landing gear down,” Michelangelo said. “He landed with gear up.”
