Odom Will Face Two Cocaine-Selling Charges

John (Blue Moon) Odom, former Oakland A’s pitcher, must face two charges of selling cocaine to a co-worker last spring, a judge ruled Friday.
Superior Judge Linda McLaughlin refused to grant a motion by Odom’s attorney, Stephan DeSales, to dismiss one of the two counts on the ground of insufficient evidence.
Odom is accused of selling cocaine to a fellow worker May 17 and again on May 24 at the now-defunct Xerox Corp. computer plant in Irvine.
His pretrial hearing is scheduled March 14 and his trial is set to begin March 17.
Odom, 40, appeared in West Orange County Municipal Court in Westminster earlier this week on separate charges of threatening his wife, Gayle, 32, in their Fountain Valley apartment last December during a standoff with police.
