Downfall of Marcos
Poor old Ferdinand, his greed has finally defeated him. In hindsight he should have realized from the lessons to be learned from history that oppression of the poor and oligarchical mannerisms would eventually be his demise.
With compassion, fairness, common sense, and our country’s continued support, Marcos probably could have spent the rest of his days leading the majority of Filipinos into economic stability and self-pride.
We like Filipinos and need them as an ally. Let us hope the leadership of Corazon Aquino is what all Filipino freedom-loving citizens wish for.
President Pieter Botha of South Africa should be paying very close attention to this current event.
