Regal Ties Wins Santa Anita Feature Race

Regal Ties, ridden by Carlos Marquez, responded in the upper stretch and finished strongly to win the $45,000 feature race Thursday at Santa Anita.

Regal Ties finished a half-length in front of Rascal Lass, ridden by Pat Valenzuela. Loucoum, with Eric Saint-Martin in the saddle, was another 1 3/4 lengths back in the 6 1/2-furlong turf race for fillies and mares.

The winner was timed in 1:15 1/5 and paid $6.80, $3.80 and $3.40; Rascal Lass returned $4.40 and $3.40, and Loucoum paid $3.20 to show.
