South Korean dissidents formed a new alliance to push electoral reform after more than 1,000 clergymen signed a petition calling on the government to revise the constitution. A spokesman said the main opposition New Korea Democratic Party, dissident leaders Kim Dae Jung and Kim Young Sam and leaders of Protestant and Roman Catholic human rights groups agreed at a luncheon to form the National Liaison Organization for Democratization. The group will urge direct presidential elections.
