Santa Fe Springs : History in Street Names

The City Council, acting as the redevelopment agency, has approved names for four new streets in Phase I of the Heritage Corporate Center development, a 64-acre project of office and light industrial buildings.
The city’s Historical Committee submitted nine names of historical significance to be considered.
Besides the industrial park, six acres of the property at Norwalk Boulevard and Telegraph Road has been designated Heritage Park. The park is the site of a large adobe residence, built in 1815, and a ranch that once had a botanical garden.
Two of the streets--Slusher Drive and Ontiveros Place--were named after previous owners of the ranch and adobe. Mora Drive was named after former Councilman Armando Mora, who died in May, 1985.
The main street into the corporate center, where construction is scheduled to begin this month, will be called Heritage Park Drive.
