In the past, when its computer software was aimed at individual engineers performing structural analyses, PDA Engineering in Santa Ana was content to have a single marketing and sales department. But not anymore.
According to president John E. McDonald, PDA’s programs are now so varied that entire engineering departments can use them for design and analysis tasks. And accordingly, McDonald says, PDA has split its marketing and sales departments.
The newly created marketing department will be headed by James Newcomb, formally the vice president of industrial automation at Dataquest, a San Jose high-technology research firm. A sales director has yet to be named.
Earlier the company announced that Clifford Mayotte was named chief financial officer.
