National Medical Enterprises announced improved financial results for the third quarter and first nine months of its 1986 fiscal year. The company reported that earnings in the quarter and nine months rose 8% and 3%, respectively. Richard K. Eamer, NME’s chairman and chief executive, indicated that the company’s third-quarter results reflect increased operating revenue in each of its primary lines of business. He reported that psychiatric and substance-abuse services achieved a 40% gain in operating revenue, health products and services a 31% increase, long-term care a 29% gain and acute and primary care a 9% increase.
