Bradley Tries for Back-to-Back Wins

SAN DIEGO — Pat Bradley, winner of last week’s Nabisco Dinah Shore golf tournament, will attempt to win back-to-back titles for the first time in her career during the Kyocera Inamori tournament this week.
The pro-am will take place today at Bernardo Heights Country Club. The 72-hole tournament will be contested Thursday through Sunday at the same site.
“It’s a shot maker’s course,” Bradley said after a practice round Tuesday. “You have to hit and drive the ball well and be accurate with your irons. It’s going to be physically demanding, too. The walks are tiring here.”
Beth Daniel is the tournament’s defending champion. Last year’s tournament was played at Fairbanks Ranch.
Laurette Maritz, a junior at United States International University, will be competing as an amateur. She shot an even-par 72 in last week’s qualifying round, leading a field of 24.
