The Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee made its second major distribution of 1984 Olympic surplus funds Friday to the U.S. Olympic Committee, national sports federations and the Amateur Athletic Foundation of Los Angeles.
The total distributed was $93.5 million, of which $56.2 million went to the U.S. Olympic Committee and national federations, and $37.3 million went to the foundation supporting youth sports in Southern California.
The new disbursements brought to $222.3 million the total distributions so far, with another several million to be paid out after all legal claims against the L.A. Olympic Organizing Committee have been satisfied.
