Chang Jung-koo of South Korea retained his World Boxing Council light-flyweight title with a unanimous 12-round decision over Mexican challenger German Torres at Kwangju, South Korea. There were no knockdowns.
This was Chang’s ninth defense of the title he wrested from Panama’s Hilario Zapata in March, 1983.
