Santa Fe Springs : Corporate Center Preschool
- Share via
In an effort to expand the city’s Children’s Services Program, the City Council last week approved a preschool to eventually be built on the site of the Heritage Corporate Center.
The preschool--for children 13 months to 4 years old--would operate temporarily at Rancho Santa Gertrudes Elementary School for two years. A permanent facility next to the planned Heritage Park at the corporate center is to be built in 1988.
The start-up costs for both the temporary and permanent facilities will be paid from Redevelopment Agency funds. Once the center is operating the program should be self-sufficient with fees from parents. The permanent facility will be able to care for as many as 300 children.
The council approved an allocation of $51,500 for the preschool and directed staff to arrange for the temporary site as well as bring the facility-related costs to the agency for formal approval.
