An autopsy performed Wednesday on the body of a Sun Valley woman found dead in her home Tuesday determined that she died after being beaten with some type of weapon, police said.
Police went to the home of Frances Landry, 83, in the 8300 block of Clybourn Avenue about 10 a.m. Tuesday after her niece reported that she had not heard from her aunt in several days, Lt. Bob Stemples said.
Officers found the victim on the floor of her house but were unable to immediately determine how she died, Stemples said.
