Floods Recede in Fiji; Suva Airport Reopens

SUVA, Fiji — Floods that killed at least eight people have started receding in Fiji’s capital, officials said Monday.
The level of the swollen Rewa River was falling, and the Suva airport, closed last week because of the floods caused by torrential rain, reopened Monday, they said.
Damage to roads, bridges and buildings was estimated at more than $20 million.
