Georgia Atty. Gen. Michael Bowers said that the next move is Jan Kemp’s, now that the damage award she won from two University of Georgia officials has been reduced.
Kemp’s $2.57 million award was reduced to $679,681 by U.S. District Judge Horace Ward. Kemp was given 20 days to decide whether to accept the reduced award or bring the case back to trial.
Kemp, a former English professor at Georgia, said she is leaning toward taking the case back to court, rather than accepting the reduced award.
