Texas Air said it would make the Denver-based commuter airline a wholly owned subsidiary of Texas Air’s newly formed regional carrier division. The acquisition complements the operations of Continental Airlines, also a subsidiary of Texas Air, a company spokesman said. Continental’s largest hub is Denver, where it currently provides nonstop service from Denver to 40 destinations and averages about 150 daily departures. Rocky Mountain is a major operator to several resort destinations in Colorado, Montana, Wyoming and Nebraska. The cost of the deal was not disclosed.
