A U.S. District Court jury in Milwaukee deliberated over three days before awarding the money to the De Rance Foundation, a Roman Catholic charity, in a fraud suit. The foundation had accused Paine Webber of losing $11.5 million through a speculative trading strategy in the gold market designed to generate excessive commissions. Paine Webber said it will appeal the verdict.
