TV, Film Producer Harold Austin, 66

Harold (Bud) Austin, a television and motion picture producer, died Saturday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he had undergone heart surgery. He was 66.
Most recently he was a producer at Universal and made “Still the Beaver,” a look back at TV’s old “Leave It to Beaver” family series.
Earlier he had been at Paramount and was involved in such series as “Happy Days” and “Laverne & Shirley.”
His film credits include “Mikeyand Nicky” and “Johnny Dangerously.”
Austin is survived by his wife, Constance, a son, a daughter and two stepdaughters. The family suggests that contributions in his name be made to the American Diabetes Assn.
A memorial service is scheduled at 1 p.m. today at the Writers Guild of America Theater in Beverly Hills.
