A clerk at a Brookhurst Street convenience store remained in intensive care Wednesday after being shot in an apparent robbery, police said.
Bahram Nafarayer, 27, was behind the counter of a Circle K food store when a male teen-ager shot him in the chest and fled with a small amount of cash about 11 p.m. Tuesday, police said. Sgt. John Haradon said officers were able to talk only briefly with the victim before he was transported to UCI Medical Center in Orange.
Nafarayer, of Anaheim, was in stable condition in the intensive care unit after undergoing surgery, Haradon said.
Circle K zone manager Jasmel Sing said a cash audit of the store, at 318 N. Brookhurst St., showed a “small amount” of money missing. Police said they did not know if Nafarayer offered any resistance in the robbery.
