20,000 Near Chernobyl Moved

MOSCOW — Officials said today that 20,000 people are being moved out of areas recently found to be contaminated by the Chernobyl nuclear disaster and one more person has died, bringing the death toll to 26.
Deputy Premier Yuri Batalin said the cleanup around Chernobyl would be finished by the end of the year and that some families evacuated from the 18-mile zone around the plant already had returned.
