East Germany’s Juergen Schult set a world record in the discus with a throw of 243 feet 1/2 inch at a national meet in Neubrandenburg, East Germany.
Schult, 26, broke by 7 feet 3 1/2 inches the record set by Soviet Yuri Dumtschev in 1983.
