I read your “If Orwell Were Editing Commentary” twice, two days apart, and liked it even better the second time. That is first-rate analysis. In a brief essay, you have captured the shortcomings of those who would reduce all to a single world view. You are absolutely on target in your note that Norman Podhoretz missed the essence of Orwell and Camus.
