School Bus, Car Collide; 8 Hurt

Eight people, including six teen-agers, were injured this morning when a 12-passenger school bus and a car collided in a San Fernando Valley intersection, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.
The teen-agers, who were riding in a Los Angeles Unified School District shuttle bus for students with learning disabilities, suffered only minor injuries, while the driver of the car was seriously hurt and flown by helicopter to Northridge Hospital Medical Center. The bus driver also suffered minor injuries. The two vehicles collided at 7:30 a.m. while the bus was turning left at Vanowen Street and Platt Avenue in Canoga Park.
