Meanwhile, Frank has named Robert A. Harris as chairman of the academy’s new drug and alcohol abuse steering committee. The committee is to determine how the TV academy and the industry can fight the growing problems of drug and alcohol abuse.
The committee was formed after Frank and other academy leaders met with Los Angeles Police Chief Darryl Gates who discussed with them how the problem is escalating.
